I guess it is about time, huh?

Wow, well what to blog about now. It is not like we have that much to report....well okay we actually do have quite a bit to report.
Jon and I are expecting our first bundle of joy mid-October. We could not be more excited. The pregnancy is progressing great!
Jon and I decided before our first trip to Europe in September that it was our last "hurrah" before we settled down and started a family. I took myself off of birth control in September and let nature take it's course. I must admit I wanted it to happen sooner than later, and was getting a bit discouraged over the course of time.
Our persistence finally pulled off and after being extremely tired and a bit sick for a weeks time, I took a pregnancy test and could not believe my eyes! I had taken so many negative tests that when this test came out positive I was astonished and looked at it 20 times in disbelief. Unfortunately I let curiosity kill the cat and I took the test at 5:00pm and Jon was not home till after midnight. He had to be the first that I told, and I knew I would not be able to hold it back from my family that I had to tell him at work. He said he already knew because I had made a peanut butter and banana sandwich and got sick off of it.
Well needless to say the next few weeks my mind was filled with fear and joy. We headed to see Erin, David, Noah, Noelle and Victoria in Germany for a bit and had an amazing time, I will write another blog about our trip out there and to Prague. The morning after we got back I had a drs. appointment and there they confirmed my test and I got to hear the heartbeat for the first time. They also did an ultrasound and we got to see the sac and the heartbeat. I was also tested for the genetic mutation that my sister Erin was diagnosed with to see if I could continue on with our Dr or if I had to switch to a high-risk facility. No genetic mutation for me and we were able to stick with our dr, whom I love!
Then came the fun time of sickness!! Man, did I get a bad spell of it. I ended up dropping 15 pounds total and could hardly keep anything down. Work was not fun with all the smells! I slept and slept and slept!!! All I did was get up from bed go to work, school and then back home and into bed! At exactly 13 weeks the end of the first trimester, I started to get a bit of energy back and an appetite! However, we were notified of a higher risk of having a baby with downs syndrome due to my age. The same week we heard this I came down with a bad cold and sinus infection, and for those of you who know me, I never get sick! On top of that I started bleeding, so we headed to the doctors after three days of bleeding, had another ultrasound, got to hear and see everything and all was okay. They do not know why I was bleeding, and on a precautionary level the gave me a Rogam shot as I am O-negative. Jon says he is too, but we need confirmation on that. The following Monday we had an extensive ultrasound to look more into the downs syndrome. I am about 15 weeks in these ultrasound pics.

After this ultrasound our chances went from 1:500 to 1:10,000. Huge change!! Since this change things have been gong great! Energy is growing and so am I! I am about 20 weeks in this picture. No hiding it now!! It really popped out this last week! I didn't want to find out the sex, but Jon does and after doing research there is not much out there that is not gender specific so I guess Jon gets his wishes fulfilled. We find out June 3, what we are having. Which the closer it gets the more excited I am.

Okay, now that the big news is actually posted not much more is happening. Next week if my last week of classes and then off for two and then summer school!!! Sunday is Jon's birthday!! He will be the big 31! We are also working on reorganizing the garage in an attempt to partition a portion of it off to be dry walled, insulated and heated to be turned into Jon's music area since he is loosing his room to the baby :( Poor Jon, being booted out to the garage.

I have made a pact to keep this blog updated as I now have lots to update with!! I am so excited about what the future holds and cannot wait for the progression!!!

Finally huh?!!

Okay, okay so I started a blog with every intention to keep up on the posts...but you know, the daily grind just gets in the way.
Not much has changed in the world of Kellie and Jon. We are still trying, this will be the second cycle off of birth control, so who knows. I have been on birth control for so long, that I am unsure of the regularity of my own body. Time will tell. Oh how I wish it would happen sooner than later!

The monotony of everyday life is really wearing on both Jon and I. The holidays are fast approaching and this is the time of year where the money is good in our jobs, but the angry guests and the attitudes really do jade our holiday spirits. But what do you do...adult life...a mortgage, student loans, the income has to come from somewhere right? The time that we are not making money, (which isn't much) we are doing lots of projects around the house. There is a huge pest in our front yard during the fall and that is our big oak tree. We love it during the summer because it keeps the house nice and cool, but let me tell you in the fall it sucks!

We rake, and rake, and rake and it never seems to make a difference.

However this is what we woke up to the next morning! A never ending cycle for the whole months of September, October and the beginning of November!!

Wow!! That was alot of leaves...the trees is pretty much bare now, so we have hired some contractors to come out and trim the tree down...it is entangled in some wires and we do not have the time or the tools to do it ourselves, plus if they mess up and a wire is broken it is their fault not ours...ha ha ha!

On another note October ended for us with Halloween... Jon had to work but I headed over to Todd, Jessica, and Kessley's house for their 2nd annual Halloween Bash. It was fun but maney moe (thank's Erin for the saying!!) was I tired. Not a youngen anymore. Thanks to Jon for the idea I had a very easy costume...I was a black-eyed pea...tell me what you think. Jon showed up after work and came a Jehovah Witness.

Todd is getting married next week...wow did I really just write that! I guess I did...Todd is getting married next week and we are busily preparing for the event. Jon is a groomsman and I am a bridesmaid, so we get to get all dressed up!! Yeah fun! I am sure I will be posting pictures.

First Blog

Okay, so I am not normally a huge fan of internet blogging...but time is of the essence and unfortunately right now there isn't much. So Jon and I figured that this would be one of the easiest ways to keep in touch with others and let them know how our lives are progressing.

As most of you know, we just got back from a 3 week trip to Europe. It has been a dream of mine for quite some time and Jon helped me fulfill it. I could not have asked for a better travelling partner, the whole trip was amazing. We flew into Amsterdam and spent a few days there...impressed with the Van Gogh museum but we both agreed we felt we really hadn't hit Europe yet. From there we took the night train to Ausburg, Germany and from there to Vilsec where Erin and David live. We spent 5 days there and had a blast. Victoria entertained us with her exuberant energy and Noah...well let me just say I was jealous of Jon...Noah liked him better!!! Unfortunately our nice relaxing time had to come to an end so we headed on the train to Frankfurt to catch our plane to Rome. The old Roman Forum was our personal favorite, Palentine Hill. We explored the Vatican City and then headed to Venice. Venice was both of our favorite cities. We stayed in Ca Savio right on the beach, a 45 min ferry ride to Venice, and loved it. It would have been even better if the rain had stayed away...kept us from enjoying the hot sun. Venice was a beautiful city, so picturesque and romantic. We visited our favorite museum there, the Guggenheim. After Venice we headed to Barcelona. Beautiful city, but I must say I think it lost a lot of it's charm after the Olympics were held there. The city was a neat town to walk around but very modernized and didn't really have much culture to it, however we were spoiled with the hotel we stayed in...our view was amazing. From Barcelona we headed to Madrid, again a little disappointed with the town itself. We went to 3 museums there and loved the Reina Sofia, they had a lot of avaunt garde pieces that Jon and I both loved. The town was a lively town that never slept and dinner was not usually eaten until 10:30 pm so Jon and I fit right in. From Barcelona we headed to Paris. We only had a day and a half in Paris for we knew we would be going back there again and actually quite liked the town. The Louvre was so packed and was our 11th museum that we walked in saw the Mona Lisa, Aphrodite and explored the African and Egyptian part of the town and walked out. We spent the evening in the Eiffel Tower...too packed to be on the romantic side, but what a beautiful setting. We definitely enjoyed ourselves. The next day we headed home, and made it to the airport 45 minutes before our plane departed, due to the Metro system being on strike and no word of it what so ever. We almost were not let on, but us being US citizens made the process a bit easier. We made it on the plane and made it home.

We are happy to be home, but sad to be back to the daily grind. Three weeks off with my husband solidified the love I have for him and only makes me miss him so much more when we are apart.

The next step in our lives is trying to conceive! The trip was a last little hurrah before we settle down and focus on children. I can't wait to be pregnant, to feel a little one inside of me. I know Jon is going to be a phenomenal dad!!! I also can't wait to see what we can create!

As for the rest of the fam... my sister Erin and David are doing well in Germany, they are anxiously counting down the days until there miracle baby girl, Noel emerges into the world. Noah is going to be such a great big brother. My baby sister Victoria is doing great in Germany as well, started 9th grade and is turning into such a beautiful young woman. My older brother Todd and his fiance are expecting as well, they are due in March. I am so happy to add Jessica into my family. My younger brother Nicholas and his wife Erika are doing great as well in a new house and a beautiful one year old, Ellen. My youngest brother Quintin is keeping busy working and being 20. Mom is working and working anxiously awaiting all the new grandchildren.

Well I think that this blog is quite long enough and definitely gives an update. Till later!!!
